This beautiful trek of Chopta Tungnath with Chandrashilla trek takes you to the world’s highest Shiva temple situated in Tungnath, at a height of 3680 m. It is one of the five Panch Kedar temples. The summit of Tungnath is Chandrashila Peak at an altitude of 4130 m. above the sea level. Trekking from Chopta to Chandrashilla via Tungnath Temple and returning to Chopta is around 10 km. This is an all season trek known for its breathtaking landscapes and dense forests surrounded with excellent views of the peaks.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Delhi

Meeting and assistance upon arrival at Delhi Airport and transfer to Hotel for overnight stay. Overnight: Hotel.

Day 2
Delhi - Haridwar (train)

Early in the morning transfer to New Delhi railway station to board the AC Shatabdi tarin to Haridwar (ETD – 06.50 HRS / ETA – 11.25 HRS). Upon arrival transfer to hotel. In the evening visit the famous Har ki Pauri Ghat to witness the Aarti (worship) of Ma Ganaga (The Holy river ganges) to have a feel of Hindu culture. Return to hotel for overnight stay. Overnight: Hotel

Day 3
Haridwar - Ukhimath - Chopta (drive 234 Km / 6- 7 Hrs)

In the morning breakfast at hotel and later we will proceed for Chopta via Rudraprayag and Ukhimath. Ukhimath is the winter seat of Lord Shiva. In the summers the worship of lord Shiva is done at the Shrine of Kedarnath (206 km / 6-7 hrs). We drive about an hour more from Ukhimath for Chopta. Arrive and check in at Camp / Guest House. Overnight: Camp / Guest House

Day 4
Chopta (3000 M) - Tungnath (3680 M) - Chopta( 9 Km Trek)

Morning drive to Chopta (3000 m) and later begin 4 km steep trek to reach 1000 year old Tungnath temple. A further climb of half a kilometer takes one to almost 4130 m for the most breathtaking view of the high Himalayas from Chandrashila Peak (4130 m). Climb down to Chopta in the afternoon. Evening – we spend at leisure.
Overnight: Camp /Guest House

Day 5
Chopta - Rishikesh (209 Km)

Post breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Arrive Rishikesh and check in to Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight: Hotel

Day 6
Rishikesh - Delhi

Morning train to Delhi. Tour ends.

The Itinerary Includes :
